Are you a mom? Or do you know a mom – Particularly one with kids still at home?
Weary? Worn down? Need some encouragement and hope from other moms who’ve been there are there?
I was so excited when I heard about the eBook Hope for the Weary Mom: Where God Meets You in Your Mess! What started as an awesome blog series is now a fabulous eBook! When I got the opportunity to review this book, I jumped at the chance!
This book is full of stories from real moms Brooke McGothlin from the MOB Society (Mothers of Boys) and Stacey Thacker from The MOD Squad (Mothers of Daughters) of real life frustrations, times of struggle, and confusion, even heartbreak. Stacey and Brooke don’t stop there, though. They offer hope from God’s Word, and their own experiences, of how God meets us right in the messiness of Motherhood to build up, strengthen and refine.
I especially related to the chapter, “Why You Can’t Live at the Spa,” as a refreshing day spent alone this week just wasn’t enough to carry me through even that very evening with grace, patience and poise.
One of my favorite features of this book is the section at the end full of Scriptures for the Weary Mom. It’s a handy, quick reference guide to so many life-giving drinks of Water from His Word.
If you are a mom, weary down in the trenches of diapers, laundry, marriage balancing, work, and more I highly recommend this book! It is written in such a way that you can eat a chapter a day as part of your devotional times, or read as a traditional book. The discussions questions at the back make it super easy to use with a mom/toddler group, too! This book would also make a great gift for the new mom in your life!
If I was going to change/add anything, it would be to put who wrote each chapter either at the beginning or end of each chapter. Since it was a collaboration between Brooke and Stacey, I would’ve loved to have known who I was reading with each story.
And now to the really fun bit!! Brooke and Stacey have graciously offered to give one of YOU a free copy of Hope for the Weary Mom!!

Thanks so much for the review. I am feeling weary this morning. Would love to have my own copy.
Thank you for offering the giveaway. I feel I’m most in need of encouragement in my role as a mom. 🙂
Weary is a good way to describe me lately!! How fun. Looks like a good read.
I am weary because being in the moment is a lot of work.
My biggest need sleep and some quality time with my husband.
I *need* chocolate…haha. No, really what I NEED is to be full of the Spirit every day so that I have something to pour into my girls. “Just getting by”, each day, is exhausting.
sounds like a good book, as a weary mom it is nice to know that others are going through some of the same “struggles” as myself. I need hope and encouragement, which I think we all do at most times!! I am so thankful for my faith and the support of others in the faith around me. God has been so very very good to my family and we are so blessed by His love and grace!!
My biggest need when I get weary is to focus on Christ–and to be around others who can encourage me in this!
I need encouragement and to know I am loved daily. I believe this book would be a great help. Thanks!!
My greatest need as a mama is energy and creativity.
I am desperate for some encouragement. I feel I lost discipline during this last year. Had a traumatic experience where I had to do CPR on my husband, a trying time while he recovered and I had to fill both mom and dad roles. Now to fill my mom role – we all picked up weight, I struggle with tiredness (my daughter is on the autism spectrum, son has ADD). I so want my light to shine vibrantly again.
I think my biggest needs are encouragement and energy. I have 3 kids, 5 and under, one of which has severe allergies and asthma. I am homeschooling and my husband works out of town monday-friday (or saturday). I am having difficulty trying to handle everything from keeping up the basic needs of the house to being able to have time to play with my kids. I sometimes stay up too late just to have a little quiet time to myself, then end up overly exhausted because of it.
I am often weary because I don’t know where to start! Would love to win the book!
I am weary because right now because each day feels like a repeat of the previous one. I can’t seem to get anything accomplished, and could use some encouragement.
My biggest need is time management!
This book sounds like a balm to my soul. I struggle daily with physical energy. I can never seem to get through nap time with out feeling overwhelmingly tired. I have three 5 and under.( 5,3,1) The laundry is never done. Always dishes to wash. Always a meal to make. Any encouragement from other moms who are currently going through the same thing is greatly welcome. Maybe there are things I need to adjust in our daily routine to help me.
