If your kids are anything like mine, they always use their most polite tone of voice, words and phrases. They are never disrespectful, rude or selfish. And their speech always reflects it.

As our kids are growing, so is our repertoire of things tried (and failed) in attempting to raise them to be all those things above: polite, respectful, selfless. But, as they stretch their little wings, and practice asserting their independence we often run into a little road block called back talking. You might call it sassing, sass mouthing; the descriptors are endless. And so can the back talking – be endless, that is – if we don’t curb it early on.
